What should you do if you think someone may have meningitis?

See your GP immediately. If your GP is not immediately available see another doctor or go straight to the nearest hospital Emergency Department. If your doctor has reassured you but your symptoms continue, do not be afraid to contact your doctor or hospital again.
Remember, every second counts.
